Biodiversity
Radharc is committed to environmental sustainability and actively integrates biodiversity support into all aspects of our maintenance programmes. Our approach includes tailored maintenance regimes designed to reduce mowing frequency and promote ecological balance. We actively support initiatives such as No Mow May, encouraging clients to participate in reducing mowing during critical periods for pollinators and other wildlife. All Radharc personnel have completed Biodiversity Awareness Training. We prioritise the growth and protection of native meadow grasses, creating habitats that support a wide range of flora and fauna. As part of our commitment, we have significantly reduced the use of herbicides and pesticides across all our operations.
“Radharc Landscaping Co. Ltd. currently maintains approximately 130 acres on behalf of the University of Galway. As one of the most biodiverse university campuses in Ireland, the University has demonstrated a strong commitment to environmental stewardship through the development of a comprehensive Biodiversity Action Plan.
Since signing up to the All-Ireland Pollinator Plan in 2018 and receiving the prestigious Green Flag Award for Parks in 2020, the University has made significant strides in promoting biodiversity on campus—efforts in which Radharc Landscaping has played a central role.
The team’s deep understanding and awareness of biodiversity are evident in their work, including the creation of extensive wildflower meadows and the implementation of pollinator-friendly planting schemes. Their ongoing contribution is vital to the continued success of the University’s biodiversity initiatives.“
